Ibuprofen BP
Composition : lbuprofen BP 300mg SR Capsule.
Indication : lbuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent with analgesic and antipyretic properties. Bufen-SR is indicated for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis. It is also indicated in acute periarticular disorders such as bursitis, Frozen shoulder (capsulitis), tendinitis, tenosynovitis and for the relief of mild to moderate pain in sprains, strains, low back pain, dysmenorrhoea and dental and post operative pain. Bufen-SR is also indicated for the relief of migraine.
Dosage and administration : Adults & children over 12 years : Usual starting dose is one capsule 300mg twice daily, taken at night & morning. This may be increased to three capsules (900mg) daily until the acute pain is controlled.
Maintenance dose : One capsule twice
daily. Or, as directed by the registered
physician.
Use in pregnancy and lactation : Pregnancy Category C. Based on animal studies and clinical experience, there is no evidence to suggest associated foetal abnormalities. However, as with other NSAIDs, Bufen-SR capsules should be avoided during pregnancy and lactation unless essential, Traces of lbuprofen have been detected in breast milk, but no adverse effects have been reported.
